Everybody knows Bobby McFerrin for his "Don't Worry Be Happy" song it sold millions.
You read that right: This album has some good tunes for fusion style bellydance, especially the opener, Medicine Man. Check it out and see if it suits you.Otherwise, this is another one of McFerrin's living albums... living because it breathes and sounds like life, with all the variety of sounds and voices. Some of the music is sad or speaks of anger, but so far I am finding it all uplifting and listenable.I think over time there will be a couple of tracks that I will skip more often than not, but this is certainly not one of those albums that you buy for one cut, and then find that you only like one or two tracks on the whole thing. It is more the kind of album that grows on you. Also it is an album that you can sit and drive to, or work to, or work out to... OK not hardcore exercise, but certainly some kinds of dance and such.I never quite know what I will hear when I try out a new McFerrin album, and so far I have not been disappointed. On the other hand, I will be disappointed if he doesn't eventually make something I don't like, as that is part of pushing the art of music.Good luck, listen to those samples & enjoy.
